Poem – Parents and Teens

“Be back early and don’t stay out late.”

Mum shouts as you walk out the gate

“You’re back late.” Dad says: “It’s nearly three?”

You shake your head thinking “God, why me?”

Yes they may talk, talk and  yell

But they’re not Parents from hell.

They’re just keeping you out of trouble

Not trying to burst your happy Teen bubble

In love, keeping you on the right track

So, don’t wish they’d get off your back.

Gratitude

It’s the 30th of June, half way through the year

I’m grateful to God that I’m still here.

Many of us started 2010 together

Sadly, some have gone to meet their maker.

I’m grateful for my family

Who mean the world to me.

I’m grateful for the favour God has shown

and for friends who never make me feel alone.

Hoping for much Happiness the next half of the year

the last few ones have been hard to bear

… and for all who are going through a tough time

May Angels watch over them and keep them fine.

Wait for Love…

You’ve done so much for me

and since youth made me happy.

I want you to enjoy this time of your life

You’ve worked so hard.

*

So much I want to do for you

buy you a car that’s brand new.

Make sure your comfy, in good health

and smiling everyday.

*

Things haven’t worked out to plan

but life must be kind to a wonderful man.

Where there’s a will there’s a way

Its just a matter of time.

*

You have always been so kind and generous to others

Even to those trained under you “baby lawyers”.

Its only Karma, you reap what you sow

and I promise to make you glow with pride.

*

We talk on the phone, you laugh and say you are 70

and you’re content to go when we’re settled and happy.

But I want you to experience a new chapter of life

You’re the only one I can truly call “Dad”.

*

Love you so much and miss you.  xxx

Julie Harrison and Daughter

Poem – I Shudder

A few days after Christmas, a father shoots his daughter

Before killing himself, he also shoots her mother.

All because of a relationship that went wrong,

Twinkle of an eye, three lives – just gone.

 *

The news reports a Custody Row over their child

How could he have loved his daughter and gone so wild?

Andy Copland’s daughter was only four,

when he sent her knocking on Heaven’s door.

RIP with your mum, little Angel.

Poem – Here Today, There Tomorrow

Life is full of uncertainties. It’s the one thing that man has no guarantee over, but I’ll write this from a positive point.

***

Poem – Here today, There tomorrow

One minute your single, sad and all alone

The next, you can’t get your new love off the phone.

***

One day you come to terms with the fact you’ll never be parents

The next year, your driving with  your baby at the back of your Merc Benz.

***

One minute your threatened with eviction from your home

Not long after, your comfy and even buy a holiday home in Rome.

***

Split of a second someone gets Sacked in an unfair way

next job –  what’s normally a week’s wages, they now earn in a day.

***

The Doctors says its all over for you, nothing more they can do

5 years down the line, in life your still happily sailing through.

***

Then there’s those that had it all, lost it, and gained it right back

Anthony Robbins, Stephen Pierce, Multi-millionaires, back on track.

***

and there’s those that keep on saying “I wanna win the lottery”

They get lucky, win a few Million and get bankrupt in two years or three.     Doh!!

***

Here Today, there Tomorrow

May life treat us kind and keep us from sorrow.
