Poem – Not a Bed of Roses

Not a Bed of Roses

I thought that life would be a bed of roses

Well at least for most of it

But find that there are:

  • So many Twists
  • So many Turns
  • So many Burns.

I thought that I would have gone further than this

At my age there is still so much amiss

But find that there are:

  • So many Delays
  • Obstacles in the Way
  • Unkept promises of what people say.

Well, hanging on by a thread, I’ll still keep positive

and hope that

I will find that there are:

  • Brighter days ahead
  • No more tears to shed
  • Angels helping me instead.

  1. It has always been a mixed bag for me. I value what I have learned while seeking the rose. It is a rose in its self.

  2. What you have said is really good. Those who grieve over this life are really tender souls of loving spirit.I like your layout as well. You are an inspiration, hang on, for us!

    • Thanks Tilly, I chose a WordPress Theme. I didn’t create it – just posted the poems.
It’s been years, so can’t remember the name of the Theme. Hope you find a nice one.
      G Luck.
